What's the difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit version of NVivo for Windows?

Newer computers often have 64-bit processors (CPUs), which allow Software to access larger amounts of memory (RAM) than older 32-bit processors.

The 64-bit version of NVivo 10 and NVivo 11 can utilize this extra memory, allowing more effective use of your computer's resources when memory demand is high. If you are using a 64-bit operating system such as 64-bit Windows 7, 64-bit Windows 8, or 64-bit Windows 10, we recommend you install the 64-bit version of NVivo.

If you're currently using a 32-bit version of NVivo for Windows, and you choose to install the 64-bit version, you must deactivate NVivo and then uninstall it prior to installing the 64-bit version.
