A virtual server is a software implementation that executes programs like a physical server. Many organizations reduce the number of physical servers they need by creating multiple virtual servers on a single physical machine.
NVivo Server 9 will successfully run on a virtual server and has undergone exhaustive functional and performance testing in these environments.
Testing has been conducted in the following virtual environments:
- VMware ESX
- Microsoft Hyper V
- Citrix XenServer
NVivo Server 9 has also successfully passed the Windows Server 2008 R2 Platform ready “works with” program. The “works with” program requires applications be tested in a Microsoft Hyper V environment.
As with physical hardware, when deploying on a virtual server, you’ll need to ensure that the virtual server’s specifications meet the minimum NVivo Server 9 system requirements .
