How do I cite NVivo for Mac, NVivo 11 for Windows, NVivo 10 for Windows, NVivo 9 or NVivo 8 in my work?

To cite QSR Software products within a body of text:

It is customary to mention the company name, the Software name and the Software version. The type of program is optional. For example:

Example 1: Fred Smith uses QSR International's NVivo 10 Software.
Example 2: John Citizen used QSR International's NVivo 10 qualitative data analysis Software.

A Citation may be written in the same way as a reference to a book publisher (note, there is no need to repeat material contained within the body text). For example:

Reference for NVivo for Windows: NVivo qualitative data analysis Software; QSR International Pty Ltd. Version 10, 2012.

Reference for NVivo for Mac: NVivo qualitative data analysis Software; QSR International Pty Ltd. Version 10, 2014.

Note, use the same format for NVivo 9, released in 2010; and NVivo 8, released in 2008.

You can use the following sample formats to direct the reader to books describing QSR Software:

Sample 1: Richards, Lyn. Handling Qualitative Data: A Practical Guide. Sage Publications, London, 2005. ISBN 0-7619-4259-9
