Thank you for requesting to download a free trial of NVivo 10. Here’s the software download link and tips on how you can get up and running quickly.
Step one: before you start
Download a free guide to Getting Started with NVivo for information on system requirements and installing NVivo.
Step two: download and install your NVivo trial
If you are running Windows XP, Windows Vista or the 32-bit version of Windows 7, you must install the 32-bit version of NVivo.
If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 7, you can install the 32-bit or 64-bit version of NVivo. The 64-bit version will allow you to utilize more memory, and is a smaller download. However, if you want to work with .mov or .qt video files, we recommend that you install the 32-bit version.
Select the version of NVivo that you want to install:
- NVivo 10 (32-bit)
(641 MB in size – on a 1 Mbps broadband connection, this will take approximately 85 minutes to download)
- NVivo 10 (64-bit)
(332 MB in size – on a 1 Mbps broadband connection, this will take approximately 43 minutes to download)
When the file has finished downloading, locate and double-click the NVivo10.x86.exe (32-bit version) or NVivo10.x64.exe (64-bit version) file. The installation will then start automatically. Follow the prompts to install NVivo.
Optionally, you can also choose to download and install NCapture and the NVivo Add-in for OneNote. NCapture is a web browser extension that allows you to gather material from the web for analysis in NVivo. NVivo Add-in for OneNote enables you to import OneNote content, including pages, sections and notebooks, into NVivo for analysis. Read more about add-ons.
Step three: activate your software
When you first start NVivo you will be prompted to enter and activate your license. On this Welcome to NVivo 10 dialog box select the 30 day trial option, and click OK.
Enter your details in the License Activation dialog box that follows. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed. Click Activate.
