About Jenine:

Dr Jenine Beekhuyzen OAM is a well-known advocate for diversity in STEM. Her work as CEO of Adroit Research, and as the Founder & CEO of the Tech Girls Movement Foundation is based on over 10 years of internationally peer-reviewed research; she has more than 60 published peer-reviewed papers.

In her role at Adroit Research, she consults to many universities in Australia and internationally to teach good qualitative research methods, design and analysis. Working closely with educators in schools and with innovators in the technology sector. She has an Adjunct position at Griffith University and an Honorary Fellow position at Deakin University. She has published in Health journals, and regularly teaches and works with health researchers on projects.

Her focus is on leadership, innovation, and education to champion Australian tech entrepreneurship, and address the necessary rebalancing of gender roles within the traditionally male-dominated STEM space. Dr Beekhuyzen completed her Doctorate in Australia on unauthorised file sharing in 2010, and she has turned her research on gender into practice by producing the illustrative children's books Tech Girls Are Superheroes – free books which have received widespread success with more than a quarter of a million readers.
