NVivo Transcription

Where is the data stored?

All NVivo Transcription data is stored on Microsoft Azure public cloud hosted in the EU. This is fully GDPR compliant.


Does QSR keep a copy of my data?

All customers are in control of their own data and can decide to delete it from the service at any time they choose. After deletion, backups are retained for a limited period, which are then also permanently deleted in accordance with our backup retention policy (typically within 30 to 90 days).

When transcribing a file, we will keep a copy of that file on the server for seven days for restore purposes only, after which the file is permanently deleted.


Will my uploaded files be confidential?

Only the account owner will have access to the files uploaded and transcribed using NVivo Transcription.
The audio uploaded is not accessed by a third-party service provider or any QSR staff member for any purpose other than providing the transcription software or any support or assistance in connection therewith. For more information on our commitment to data protection and privacy, please refer to our Privacy Policy and section 15 of our  QSR Cloud Services Agreement.


Does QSR share my data with any third party?

Third party service providers are utilised as part of the transcription service. All our third-party service providers and employees have concluded confidentiality agreements with QSR, and the audio uploaded is not accessed by a third-party service provider or any QSR staff member for any purpose other than providing the transcription services or any support or assistance in connection therewith.


What type of encryption is used?

All data for our services is encrypted in transit over public networks using SSL/TLS to protect your data from unauthorized disclosure or modification.


How long do I have to use the transcription credits?

Transcription credits are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase. Refer to Schedule 1 in the Terms and Conditions.

 

What type of payment and purchasing options are there for transcription credits?

  • Individual - Individual purchase of transcription credit hours, with the ability to pay-as-you-go via a credit card.  Find out more about pricing options.
  • Enterprise bulk purchase - For enterprise and academic customers who want to make a single one-off purchase with the ability to distribute hours, at competitive hourly rates.  Please contact the QSR Sales team for more information.
  • Enterprise subscription – For enterprise and academic customers that can benefit from quarterly transcription credits that can be transferred amongst users, at the most competitive hourly rates.  Please contact the QSR Sales team for more information.


How do I exercise my “right to be forgotten” after I am done transcribing?

You have a right to be forgotten. Please contact the QSR Support team to remove your account.


Can you help retrieve deleted files?

No, unfortunately not. We delete the file when you do to protect your privacy and data security.


I accidentally uploaded and/or transcribed twice – what should I do?

Uploading the same file twice will not incur any cost to you, however transcribing the same file twice will. You can delete duplicates before transcribing.


I didn’t receive my verification email – what should I do?

Check your spam or junk email folder. Contact the QSR Support team and they can assist with your verification.


Can I get a refund of my unused credits?

Please refer to Schedule 1 in the Terms and Conditions.


Can I transfer my credits to another customer’s account?

Only ELA accounts can transfer credits.

Can there be more than one ELA administrator?

No, there can only be one ELA administrator.


How can the ELA administrator track the account usage?

Contact the QSR Sales team to get a report of your account usage.


What should we do if the administrator makes a mistake during the credit transfer?

Contact the QSR customer support team.


How long do I have to use the transcription credits?

You can check your credit validity period from your Purchase history on the Account page.


Can we transfer unused transcription credits back to the administrator?

Only ELA accounts can transfer credits.
